Lot #23, Salt Pond Road, Pond Acres
This homeowner considered buying a lot to build a new house but quickly realized that they could not find a location similar to theirs without paying a premium lot price for the property. So they decided to renovate the existing space and add on additional space on the rear and north side. A new front entrance foyer was created with an entrance from the newly enclosed garage. A new living area was created and includes a wet bar. A new deck and a screen porch with a roof top deck were added to the new living area. The owners now enjoy a new first floor master bedroom and custom bathroom. The second floor gained two new bedrooms and remodeled bathroom. The addition/renovation doubled the square footage of the existing house and used maintenance free exterior products. BMD/B worked closely with Coastal Esturian Research, Inc. to obtain permission from the Army Corp of Engineers 404 Permit to build portions of the renovation/addition over wetlands.
